Dr. Brian McDonough is widely recognized for his long-standing roles as Medical Editor for 1010 WINS (New York) and KYW (Philadelphia), where his daily health reports have aired for more than 25 years. In his clinical work, he serves as Chairman of the Graduate Medical Education Committee for the Department of Family Medicine at St. Francis Hospital. Over three decades, he has combined inpatient and outpatient expertise with a deep commitment to medical education — training more than 175 board-certified family physicians as department chair.

Dr. McDonough has held leadership roles on the boards of Catholic Health East, Villanova University, Omnia Education, and The College of Physicians of Philadelphia. Most recently, as Vice President and Chief Health Informatics Officer for Trinity Health, he led the systemwide implementation of Epic’s electronic health record and advanced telehealth adoption during the COVID-19 pandemic. His work reflects a strong focus on digital patient engagement and innovation in care delivery.

A dual citizen of the United States and Ireland, Dr. McDonough has received numerous honors, including the American Academy of Family Physicians Physician of the Year and Temple University’s Blockley-Osler Award for Bedside Teaching. He is a member of the Broadcast Pioneers Hall of Fame, a four-time Emmy Award winner, and recipient of the Jules Bergman Award as National Medical Broadcaster of the Year. He has authored four books, contributed regularly to NBC’s “TODAY Show,” and holds an honorary degree from LaSalle University.
