Get to Know Me

Hi! My name is Vasavi and I work in the department of Pediatric Orthopedics, primarily at the Milford, DE location. I grew up in Salisbury, MD, where I went to high school and college. I went to graduate school in the greater Philadelphia and Delaware area. My interest in orthopedics developed during my undergraduate years when I worked on an orthopedics surgery recovery unit. Prior to my current role, I gained experience and skills as an Emergency Medicine Physician Assistant, where I found myself more interested in orthopedic cases as well as working with children. Outside of work, I enjoy playing tennis and going on outdoor adventures with family and friends! I enjoy exploring and learning something new, whether it is when I am out exploring nature or when I am at work taking care of children.

Why I Treat Children

During my career in medicine, I found that I really enjoyed treating kids and it was fascinating to see their resilience during active illness and recovery. It is gratifying to see kids feeling better and parents reassured under my medical care. I am grateful for the opportunity to work with kids in a field that I am very passionate about. I find myself learning something new every day from their young minds. What I'm Passionate About

I am passionate about learning the “why” and “how” of things in life. This interest of mine grew with me during my years of schooling. I was captivated by the processes that occur at a molecular level for our bodies to function. This passion guided my career choice in medicine. Today, I am proud that my passion allows me to treat orthopedic conditions in kids to create a healthier future.

How I Try to Make A Difference

I am honored to be a part of a team that is committed to providing quality medical care to children in communities I grew up in. There is fulfillment in learning that the kids I had the opportunity to treat are back to playing their sports or hobbies that they love. With training and skillset in the fields of medicine and public health, I aspire to leverage my background to improve patient and family experiences in health care.
